Allowing your users to choose the mailings they want to is important for retaining good relationships with your users. Mailing channels, within Insight, enable your users to subscribe, or unsubscribe, from specific mailing content. Every Insight web site has one mailing channel by default. Leaving your web site with only the default mailing channel limits your users to either receive all mailings from your site or receive none at all. This could lead to users unsubscribing from all your site mailings just because they are receiving one or two emails that they aren’t interested in. For example if you send out a monthly newsletter you should set up a new mailing channel, so if a user chooses to unsubscribe from that mailing they are still on your main mailing channel for general mailings, and any other mailing channels you've set up that they are subscribed to. Click on the 'play' button below to see a demonstration of how to create a mailing channel and how users can unsubscribe from mailing channels.Setting up a Mailing Channel

Does the unsubscribe option only show if you send a newsletter via a mailing channel?
A mailing will always go through a mailing channel - every site has at least one mailing channel.
Those users who are primarily signing up to receive emails from us login very rarely after the initial log in, therefore it would be great if they could choose which areas of our work/site to receive emails about when they register initially.
I would like the registration forms to have radio buttons to join 1-5, or all, mailing channels on the site.
Thanks,
Annie
