How do you add hyperlinks to images?

I am needing to add a map to a webpage and would like to be able to separate it into three main areas with hyperlinks taking the user to their selected page relating to that geographical area. Can this be done and - if so - how? Thanks

If you Google 'image maps' you will find information about doing this - I noticed there is an online tool at http://www.image-maps.com which allows you to upload an image and map links to different areas of the image. Hope that helps.
